Objek Rekaman
Objek ADO Recordset digunakan untuk menyimpan sekumpulan record dari tabel database. Sebuah objek Recordset terdiri dari record dan kolom (fields).
Di ADO, objek ini adalah yang paling penting dan paling sering digunakan untuk memanipulasi data dari database.

Saat Anda pertama kali membuka Recordset, penunjuk record saat ini akan menunjuk ke record pertama dan properti BOF dan EOF adalah False. Jika tidak ada catatan, properti BOF dan EOF adalah True.
Objek Recordset dapat mendukung dua jenis pembaruan:
- Pembaruan segera - semua perubahan ditulis segera ke database setelah Anda memanggil metode Pembaruan.
- Pembaruan batch - penyedia akan menyimpan beberapa perubahan dan mengirimkannya ke database dengan metode UpdateBatch.
Di ADO ada 4 jenis kursor berbeda yang ditentukan:
- Kursor dinamis - Memungkinkan Anda melihat penambahan, perubahan, dan penghapusan oleh pengguna lain.
- Kursor keyset - Seperti kursor dinamis, kecuali bahwa Anda tidak dapat melihat penambahan oleh pengguna lain, dan mencegah akses ke catatan yang telah dihapus pengguna lain. Perubahan data oleh pengguna lain akan tetap terlihat.
- Kursor statis - Menyediakan salinan statis dari kumpulan rekaman untuk Anda gunakan untuk menemukan data atau membuat laporan. Penambahan, perubahan, atau penghapusan oleh pengguna lain tidak akan terlihat. Ini adalah satu-satunya jenis kursor yang diizinkan saat Anda membuka objek Recordset sisi klien.
- Forward-only cursor - Memungkinkan Anda untuk hanya menggulir maju melalui Recordset. Penambahan, perubahan, atau penghapusan oleh pengguna lain tidak akan terlihat.
Jenis kursor dapat diatur oleh properti CursorType atau parameter CursorType dalam metode Open.
Catatan: Tidak semua penyedia mendukung semua metode atau properti dari objek Recordset.

EditMode | Returns the editing status of the current record |
EOF | Returns true if the current record position is after the last record, otherwise false |
Filter | Sets or returns a filter for the data in a Recordset object |
Index | Sets or returns the name of the current index for a Recordset object |
LockType | Sets or returns a value that specifies the type of locking when editing a record in a Recordset |
MarshalOptions | Sets or returns a value that specifies which records are to be returned to the server |
